- You Want to Control Other People.
This is the
defining characteristic of Mind Cancer.
- "What?!?", you say: "That sounds like a
description of people I know, my own mother for example". You

You are incapable of seeing this current mess for what it really is. Yet another manufactured crisis, it's purpose to takeover the entire financial industry. Let's try and understand your untenable position... you think that because everything is failing because of government regulations -- we need more government regulations? You want to give more regulatory power to the same idiots who caused the problem in the first place?
California legislators passed laws forcing all energy purchases to go through Enron, and then when Enron was allowed to price-gouge at will you blamed the "Free Market" and not the California legislators who passed the laws?
You blame the mortgage crisis on deregulation -- but not Barney Frank? Banks are in deep trouble for following government regulations forcing them give loans to people who couldn't pay them back. If the banks were allowed to fail, they would have been restructured, the depositors would have been covered by FDIC -- no one of importance would have been hurt. But the banking execs would have screamed: "But we were just following orders!". There were also some Nazis at the Nuremberg trials that tried that same excuse.
Your knee-jerk reaction against the "Free Market" means you are totally misinformed -- America hasn't had a "Free Market" since the 1920s.
In a Free Market, there is no "Too Big to Fail". Businesses fail, go bankrupt, executives lose their bonuses and their positions. The fate of the creditors, stockholders, bondholders, and union contracts are decided by judges. Companies are restructured or disolved. Those companies will then be replaced by better, stonger entities -- not run by incompetents.
